TUPE

In order to digitally transform their organisation, Velocitii helped a central government client to exit from a large, long-standing contract with a multinational IT services provider.

A key part of this was the potential TUPE of more than twenty employees from the services provider back into our client. In a short space of time, Velocitii TUPE experts Amy and Clare moved the TUPE workstream from one of significant financial and legal risk, to one that delivered value to the client through cost-savings and strategic organisational design.

Extremely Vulnerable People service

In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, the British government sought to ensure that food parcels were delivered to the homes of the 1.5 million most vulnerable people in the UK. A key element in achieving this was a digital product that managed data flows between local authorities (via MHCLG) and food wholesalers (via DEFRA) through central government (at GDS).

Velocitii expert developer, Jon, and service designer, Loic, worked alongside a committed and visionary team at MHCLG to deliver this vital work.

Cyber Security Discovery

We have recently partnered with the Local Digital Collaboration Unit to deliver a cyber security discovery, funded by the National Cyber Security Centre.

Velocitii experts Jon and Simon have provided delivery management and technical security architect services to support the research, identification and understanding of threats, challenges and capability in cyber security and resilience across UK local authorities.

PropTech

PropTech is about digital disruption: transforming the housing and planning sector through digital and data technologies.

Velocitii expert, Jess, is helping the government identify opportunities across the housing market to engage and support PropTech companies - from how communities decide where houses should be built, to helping developers find land to build on, through to how we buy and sell property.

Jess has helped our central government client to build momentum, provide leadership and digital services, and make better data available to accelerate transformation in this sector.

Local Digital Collaboration Unit

Velocitii has collaborated with the LDCU team to bring local government organisations together, with a shared vision of more user-centred, cost-effective local public services.

Velocitii team members have provided specialist support roles. Guljuhan has been embedded within LDCU to provide varied and essential support across the team including:

  • Successful delivery of three Local Digital funding rounds
Helping to design and develop the continuous funding model for LDCU
  • Supporting councils with their response to Covid-19, including desk research, workshops and data analysis

Velocitii also helped coordinate the training of over 1000 council staff into GDS Academy training courses. The initiative was introduced to build digital delivery and leadership capability across local authorities.
